mutant blond hairs

I occasionally find mutant blond hairs in my arms and chest (say 2 or 3 times a year).

They tend to be 2-3 times longer than my other hairs. 8cm is pretty huge for a hair in my arm. I wonder what the length distribution is, but I imagine it's a birth and death process similar to what we find in animal life.

No such thing as hair cancer, right?

I am too skeptical and untrusting for my own good.

When I was 11 or 12, in Angola, I decided to stop using soap, since it had no visible function.
I didn't use it for a week or so... one day in the shower, I noticed that I couldn't seem to get the grime off of me: I rubbed little bits off, but there was always more, and my skin was getting irritated from all the rubbing... how frustrating!

I asked my father for help, and after a brief cross-examination, he recommended I use soap. That day I learned about the chemical properties of soap.

This episode is very much "me": I avoid doing things whose workings I don't understand.

LJ is amazingly slow implementing the simplest things

LJ is amazingly slow implementing the simplest things. A month or two ago, I asked them to put name and contact-info fields to remind non-LJ commenters to sign their comments, but they said they're already working on this. This, and tons of other good, simple ideas that they never get around to. Are they *really* working on it, I have to wonder. I would volunteer to help them, if they let me.

In the mean time, I would like a way of reminding my anonymous commenters to show their faces.

How do I change my "post comment" to "remember to sign your comment"?

credit card pranks

I've been laughing uncontrollably at credit card pranks, but it's so silly.

I just took pictures of my teary eyes.

GMail is being flaky

Damn! GMail is being flaky. Just like yesterday.

I should find something to fall back on. I'm going to make a multiple forward, sending an extra to YahooMail. Argh, the system forces me to delete my ordinary forward before I make a multiple forward with that address, bouncing all emails in the meantime.
