web tracking & visitor personality
Sep. 13th, 2005 01:57 pmIf you have a website, I think you can make a reasonable estimate of your visitors' personality from the site log. If someone visits the site again *after* emailing you, it's probably more likely that they are "P" than "J".
Another test could be to say something extremely disagreeable in a page (the sort of thing that <1% of your visitors might agree with). I think that visitors who stay there long are more likely to be "T" and "P". Of course, one can't always measure how long someone stayed at a certain page.

wiki web hosting
Aug. 27th, 2005 08:47 pmI want to put the My Notebooks part of my website on a Wiki. It seems like it would be a good way to get contacts (i.e. get a higher yield from my visitors).
So each article would have an inviting "Edit This Page" button and, at the end of every page, there would be a Questions & Discussion section as a way of encouraging people to get in touch with me, with an inviting "[+]" button. I could also have the discussion on the article's Talk Page.
Does anyone know a web host that offers Wiki? (there are plenty of free Wikis, but I want one on my domain).
