Well ... I've only read one of his essays. But it was totally dumb. Then again, I think that pretty much anything that a philosopher has to say about personal identity is totally dumb. Heh.

Did you manage to listen to it? A couple of my friends (all still out of town, because Stanford doesn't start up until a few weeks from now) have been dying to get a copy of it.

I think Perry's dialogues on personal identity were pretty good, but I read part of Taylor's book on language, and it was just too filled with typos and trivial errors to let me pay attention to the issues. Besides which, I much prefer reading original essays to textbook versions of the ideas.

But they're both good professors.
