I wish GMail warned anyone whose email gets placed in the spam folder, and told them to look up my address on my website. Yes, I know that spammers would use this feedback to learn what kind of messages pass through the spam filter. But it's not like it's very hard to get this kind of feedback already.

Why is it so hard for people to use BCC / create mailing lists? I wish email clients had an option, right next to "Compose Message" called "Create a Yahoo! mailing list, invite these same people, and Post Message".

Seriously, clients should give a big warning whenever the number of people in "To:" + "CC:" has more than 5 people.

Some tips on disrupting the filters

If you are sending mail to a yahoo address, make your own random Yahoo account. Send from your main account, and then bcc: your own Yahoo address. Check to verify the message was delivered to the bcc: address. If it winds up in the spam folder, you've got a problem.

Fabricate a female-sounding name address to use for general inquiries to male-run IT departments or webmasters. There is no value in identifying yourself as male to them. Do not sign it artificially or lie—if they ask you if you are a girl say "no, I just use this address for IT inquiries as a practical matter." They won't ask, they will assume, and they will provide better and more prompt feedback.

Help improve the system: if you don't feel like responding to a message, bounce it as opposed to letting it sit in your inbox. You can bounce messages using several mail clients (mac Mail.app is one).

That looks like a good idea! I perceive no obvious problems with it with e-mail in its current incarnation, although it might not mesh with future changes. Did you submit a request?

If Google did that, they would be spamming, and they'd get listed on all the spamhaus lists as spammers. Rightfully so, since the sender address could be easily faked so that they would get an autoreply from Google... and that is spam.

Any kind of auto-responder can be fairly easily exploited to send out spam.
