I have rented a small room in Pittsburgh for July & August.

I will soon be looking for a long-term apartment starting September.

I intend to. I will not know until next week whether it is really feasible to go to CMU for the fall semester; I will need to make sure that:

(1) I can finish my BA either in the last half of this summer session as intended, or online in the fall while attending graduate classes elsewhere; and

(2) CMU doesn't have hidden requirements, and will really let me take the classes I want.

The UMB person who can advise me about (1) is supposed to be getting back from vacation next week, and I assume I will be able to speak to someone at CMU on the 5th but not earlier.

I will also need to find a source of income to cover rent for the semester, but I think that will be easier than the rest.

Good to know that my friends were able to help you out. I'll probably end up visiting Pittsburgh at some point later this summer, so we'll definitely have to meet in person.
