Goddamn Windows again!

guslThe system on my laptop just froze up, probably due to a memory leak. I can still move my mouse.
I had important documents open that I didn't save. Notepad windows, particularly, tend to freeze up in response to a File->Save.
Any tips for recovering them? Are there programs to access memory, and save my data for me?
I may try using Freedom Linux very soon.

Date: 2003-07-21 12:05 am (UTC)XP has some nice feature too... but I have about 10 mins experience with XP.
I use emacs as my text editor - has auto save and
lots of features.

But why it needed hours to figure this out is beyond me.
