I think we should start a BCC consciousness campaign. I suspect that most "victims" are too shy to complain. My signature is ignored by a few people.

Netiquette: if sending a message to multiple recipients (>3), please make sure to hide my email in the BCC. This prevents spam.

Leaving my email open for all to see not only causes future spam, but it also screws up my mail filtering. I think the problem is that BCC is not shown by default in many clients. If it were my choice, I would have made it the default "To"... right next to the Public-To, and CC, both of which would have big red warnings.

I completely agree. I've told my friends over and over to use BCC whenever sending out mass e-mail, since my mail filter will think their e-mail is spam and send it directly to the trash folder. But either they just don't care or they don't know what BCC is...

PS: I replied to your comment about my name. And also I looked up what "merd" means...it's not pretty :P But oh, well! :)

Well, they like to send "mass-email" to everyone when inviting for an event, like a birthday party... Then they wonder why I don't show up or even reply :P
