One of the speakers has written this book "The Unfolding of Language". It looks very interesting.

Nice! I just read that book. It's very good; deep and full of interesting content but eminently readable. If you attend the talk and get Deutscher's attention after, you should try to get him talking about triconsonantal root systems in Semitic languages. From the content of the book (and the minibiography) it sounds like it's his favorite topic.
