Why do moles often have hair?
Jun. 12th, 2005 09:37 pmWhy do moles often have hair? What's the relationship between melanin and hair growth?
Could moles overlap? How random is their spatial distribution?
Why do pimples grow in some places (back, face, shoulders) but not others (e.g. belly)?

That's why I need to make a commitment with myself to go out with someone new every week (although this week, the quota was met: see a few posts back).

The face produces oil because it's one of hte more supple/elastic skin types thus it requires lubrication.
On the back/shoulders it's often a matter of clothes, pimples are clogged pores and the clothes hanging down tend to facilitate this, plus heat which allows the infection.
don't know about moles, but I imagine that the hair facilitates the eruption of the skin.
