Jonathan Coulton
Feb. 26th, 2010 01:39 amThe Jonathan Coulton concert was cool. He had an awesome opening band, Paul and Storm, who bled into the main show a *lot*... and another guest, Molly Lewis, who is very clever and looked cool improvising a banjo-uke+kazoo combination. The whole thing had a lot of audience input (requested and unrequested), full of running jokes and cultural references, largely about video games (Frogger Song <3). When people were waving cell phone and lighters, Fred won by waving the "fireplace" app on his Mac.
Cupcake girl Sarah got Jonathan to eat one before the song, so he sang "the cupcake is a lie".
Vancouver apparently has plenty of geeks who I've never met. This was the largest social geek event I've seen here.
