hackers: JavaScript inside a Mediawiki article

I'd like to be able to make interactive articles in my wiki so that, e.g. in a table, the reader could hide some columns; or interactive tree and graph visualizations.

If anyone wants to play with this, I'm happy to provide a sandbox for you in my MediaWiki installation (you can create an account here). I've enabled raw HTML and could add more extensions if desired.
