Damn! My site has fallen from #1 to being way, way down on Google (not among the first 50 results) on Gustavo+Lacerda. I've gotten 0 Google hits from my name in the past 6 days.

This comes after a period when I was getting a bunch of hits through of random searches, for instance JoeHalpern+autism, and names of other people I link to, like Shane+Legg.

Maybe I have too many links, was flagged as an optimizer, and banished from the results list? I wonder if it will come back up once I clean up the site a little.

And this right after I printed business cards without an email address, just saying "Google knows me"! :-(

Ha! Rule #1 on Google SEO: Do not talk about Google on your blog ;)

(Seriously, just put <h1>Gustavo Lacerda</h1> at the top op the page and it'll be allright)

I meant, I already have < title > Gustavo Lacerda </ title >.

You hve to use both for best results ;) having your name in the title is good, but it might not mean anything at all (spammers etc.), while having your name prominently in the page is more important.

No, it's because of the redirect. When you do a 302 redirect, Google only sees the originating document which doesn't have any content related to your search term. You might have had a higher ranking previously if there were a lot of new links pointing to your site. After the linking sites dropped in the rankings, your site dropped as well. I'd say you have to do the following:

1. host your domain, don't redirect
2. optimize your front page (there's too much content, google will stop scanning it after the first 20k of HTML). anyway, you want inside pages from which the main page is linked also.
3. add keywords with relevant frequency. add image alt tags. use your name at least twice on every page (title, h1, header, footer, comment)
4. most importantly, get linked from other sites with high page rank (3 or higher should be fine). you can check page rank with the firefox plugin. Right now you only have three external links pointing to your site, that's
not enough.

If you've done all the above you will be found!
