Facebook apps for network mining

I would like a Facebook script which, for each friend of mine captures:
* the list of friends we have in common
* how many friends they have
* gender
* DOB

Is it easy to write a script to do this? If I use a Facebook app, does it have access to all the information that I do?

I don't think it's possible unless you are Facebook. When I worked with the API, it was ratelimited and could never grab all my friends names, which was very not cool.

I read an article in slashdot about the lack of privacy that allows facebook apps to access all the data that it's user has access to, including friend's profile pages.
