How should I administer 5HTP, in order to minimize jetlag? The labels says to take 2 tablets 3 times a day. But since I'm going East, shouldn't I schedule them accordingly?
I assume that labels will say "3 times a day" to mean "we don't endorse taking this more than once every 8 hours" to absolve themselves of legal liability in case their drug hasn't been tested appropriately at higher doses and/or frequencies. But I have no idea about the actual supplement and what it's supposed to do or how it would actually be helpful to take it.
I was taking them for mood balancing and attention shifting earlier this year, one per day for about 3 months (although they come in different milligram dosages and I don't remember which dosage it was). They make me a little bit sleepy and mentally fuzzy but after taking them for 3 months, I stopped because it seemed like I was getting just as moody at times and having just as many attention issues... I really don't think it made any difference. It does, on the other hand, help me get to sleep sometimes.
For jet lag, I guess I would just recommend taking it 2 hours before you want to fall asleep, whenever that is.
