Fake schedule (since importing part of the HTML page was tricky (things were inside tables, etc), commenters are welcome to do a better job)
8:42 walk for 2 min
8:44 take train #9 to Central Station
8:56 arrive in Central Station
9:01 take the NS train to Leiden
9:46 arrive in Leiden Station
9:46 start walk for 8 minutes
9:54 arrive on destination
Total travel time: 1:12
The way everything is chronically on time (no pun intended) around here, this can be a good way to schedule exactly what time to leave home, etc.

Sometimes I count steps too, but not most of the time. I certainly don't keep it in my memory for very long. I think I do it so as to plan the rhythm I am going to follow: there is a certain satisfaction in getting in climbing/descending the stairs in a regular rhythm. Otherwise it's too boring.

Date: 2003-09-10 06:50 am (UTC)There are so many things I do that once I had my diagnosis, they made sense. Such as counting steps.
So I remember when we first chatted and you were wondering whether it might apply to you, and as I read that post, I a) loved the post, thought it was very cool and interesting, and b) noticed it was rather aspie in nature. So I thought I'd comment on that.
