After slipping back to Windoze for a couple of weeks, a couple of weeks ago I installed Fedora (the new, non-commercial RedHat) and have been running it since.
I'm still learning about rpm and all that stuff. Yesterday, I got Patrick's help to reinstall xmms, so now I can play MP3s.
In the meantime, I have configured Evolution with 3 emails accounts, email filters, made 6 desktops, and installed the Googlebar.
TO DO:
* install Java plug-in for Mozilla. Install Freemind on top of that.
* make Flash work normally in Mozilla (it's about 5x too slow).
* make touchpad work, especially since my mouse is annoying.
Yes, I am annoyed by the fact that things are hard to do. Yet I am happy, because at least I know I have the (latent) freedom to make them better.
