Very interesting. I probably need to take a look at mereology.

Godel's Theorem is bothersome, but only from a platonist perspective of math. You could interpret it as "proof" of mathematical formalism; but it would be nice to be able to think about numbers in the same way we think about physical objects. Which is why I think your questioning of set theory is a good idea.
