I am taking my laptop with me to Europe. I'll try to be as connected as I can. I have a network card as well as a modem built-in. I've been looking for a Europe-wide dial-up ISP with toll-free numbers, but nothing has been satisfactory.

My ATT account is about to be canceled, so I will also need a POP account.

Any suggestions? Would a calling card be a reasonable solution?

I've just taken a loot at netstumbler.com, but it doesn't look that helpful.

this is not nearly as convenient as having your own dial-up acct, but last time i was in europe (about 1.5 yrs ago), i found internet cafes to be very abundant and really cheap. (and i assume this even more the case now than back then.) but it's still helpful to have some sort of guide book that tells you of their locations in various cities. btw, when are you planning on returning from europe? (and will you be returning to the US or brazil?)

I was offered an internship by XYZTechnologies(.com), but I'm not sure what the conditions are or if it will work out with the INS. The company is extremely interesting, but I don't know what I would do there.

If I go work for them, I'm guessing I'll go back in about a month. If not, I'll be going to Brazil in November / December / when I've spent enough money. I intend to go to Tufts in January.

By the way, what I had heard was that there was this free "cloud" of connectivity in some cities. Nothing could beat that.

i do not need an acct w/ the AOL of blogs!!! i prefer my own website (which i notice you don't read very often, anyways :p) but thanks for the sentiment. when you get back from europe and brasil, i'll need to finally make that trip down for a visit. it's been ages since we've seen eachother!
