Dear LJ Genie,

I'm looking for lots of desk space in my room / office, and I'd like to save some smoney. By "desk", I mean a flat thing that is not uncomfortable to rest my hands on (i.e. smooth, non-metallic surface).

Since this is a very modest request, I should expect a very cheap solution like, at most $15/ m^2. Just take some coated / smoothed-out plywood, and add metallic legs. It can't be very expensive.

I'm going to Ikea tomorrow. Any advice?

P.S. I'm also getting:
* lotsa shelves
* dining table
(the argument above also apply to these two)
* dish rack
* dry-erase boards

Get the cheap folding tables from Staples. They're very inexpensive, work well, and they'll probably deliver them for free. They come in a bunch of sizes.

Having a dry-erase board at home is quite nice. I like keeping mine by my bed so I have somewhere to write late-night ideas.
