I want to write a bot to go through all my posts, and for each one make a blank comment and immediately delete it. This will allow me to search through my LiveJournal entries on my GMail.

I would also like to write semi-automatic bots for MediaWiki, for things like moving improperly-capitalized articles.

Why don't you just use something like ljarchive or logjam that specifically logs entries?

I suggest ljsm. You might as well keep a local archive of everything anyhow.
