I got absurdly high charges for using my cell phone in Boston this January.
As a libertarian, I understand the need to keep one's contracts, but these contracts are so big that no normal user understands them.
But since this wasn't an ideal contract, I should make the best of the existing system.

Basically, I got a charge of $369.13. After some complaining, explaining and crediting, they are now asking for $268. But had I remembered to change my plan on time, this would be closer to $100, no courtesy credits required.

CINGULAR EMPLOYEE:
Unfortunately I cant put you back on that price plan. All credits have been applied to the account.

Gustavo Lacerda:

Is he aware of my unusual situation?

"
I was away from the US during between August and
January, so I changed my plan to the lowest plan
available. But I forgot to change it back to an
"active" plan when I went back this January, when I
started using it again. I find it hard to believe
that such a simple mistake on my part could result in
such big charges.

My average monthly bill with my old plan was about
$40, but now I'm facing $268 for a period of little
more than one month (Jan 14 - Feb 19). I was very
surprised to see these charges.
I'm sure we can negotiate a better deal.
"

Please let him see this, and get back to me. Thank
you.

Gustavo

CINGULAR EMPLOYEE:

I couldnt waive all the charges. I consulted with a manager, and he adjusted $50 off charges. I credit any charges after 03/05/03.
