Oct. 22nd, 2005 03:42 pmI think that mathematically-minded people often have a desire to optimize, but sometimes this can be taken to irrational proportions, ignoring the significant costs of a delayed decision, and the costs of searching and analyzing. This is what sucks about being a "P".
I propose that we put a price tag on our own time... like "if I'm going to spend 15 minutes researching this, I should expect the payoff of this research to be at least $10 in savings" (unless I enjoy researching).
My friend H has been indecisive about which laptop to buy for the past 3 weeks. He just thanked me for my advice and told me he will purchase one today.
