An interview with John Gottman, about the "mathematics of love" it's actually seems to be more about how to make relationships work. And apparently, they are much more successful than ordinary relationship therapists. Apparently, such interventions could have a big positive impact on children, and on society as a whole.

Martin Seligman's AuthenticHappiness.com
"It's not enough to think it should work. We're after hard evidence of what makes people happier.

They have 20 suggested interventions, some of which make you happier, some of which don't, but they don't tell you which are which... so that the data won't get biased. But they say it's quite surprising which ones work... still, it's a bit frustrating.

I've come across a few critiques of John Gottman's work, but haven't had the time to read. Try a search on pubmed -- at least one paper claims his model(s) use an inappropriate statistical model. Still looks fun. I plan to have a look at this stuff!
