easy recipe for stats papers
Oct. 21st, 2007 12:36 amSince so many statisticians make their living by translating to audiences in other scientific fields, here's an easy recipe:
* take a chapter from a recent book on Machine Learning, explaining a hot "new" topic (e.g. probabilistic graphical models)
* make appropriate string replacements: e.g. "coin" --> "liver", "flip" --> "transplant".
* submit to an appropriate publication, e.g. Journal of Digestive Pathology.
* add line to CV
Now you too can come up with an original stats paper. :-)
