there's a nice bed and breakfast down fifth avenue a couple blocks. my mom stayed there. I guess technically it might be in Shady side though. It was very nice, if you want more info I could ask my mom for the website and name

the Sunnyledge Boutique Hotel. Once again, my mom really liked it. It might be a bit pricey but it's very close to campus and Shadyside at the same time.

I know there's a Holiday Inn Select nearby

For the record, my parents stayed at Sunnyledge when they came into town once, and they really liked it. They have a martini bar downstairs :)
