Apparently there were 4 BON birthdays this weekend, which might be the reason I had exactly one BONer there.

It started at about 8:00pm, as Dave and his girls arrived with a ton of beer. We played a little Taboo, then we jammed some bluegrass, and then some Beatles (Beatles tunes on the banjo are awesome). I saw a friend who I hadn't seen since last March (11 months). So the party felt good.

But, perhaps partly because of this unusual format, the party died off at about 11:30pm. There was sort of a divide between music players and non-music-players. I had anticipated this, so I asked the musicians to arrive at 7pm, but they were about 2 hours late on average. So there this mixing happened.

I'm trying to figure out a different format for parties. I really don't know what would be a good setup. I'm really not into background music, but maybe that's something parties need.

Thanks for the invite... if you look at my LJ, you will see that I wasn't really able to go anywhere this weekend. Hope you had fun.

Happy birthday Gus, it sounds like you had a good time regardless of the quantity of attendees.

thanks. It was a good time. It was a precedent: now I intend to use that huge house that I pay for.

You could set up one music room and one non-music room, instead of one main room and one coat room. Move one of the couches into the other room next time so people are encouraged to spread out.
