I imagine that living in the Netherlands, you must find an enormous difference with respect to the terribly close-minded attitudes in other places (such as the US or some Latin American countries).
I'm afraid I haven't had much of a chance to attest to the open-mindedness of the Dutch, except that in conversation they seem a lot more open-minded wrt taboos, such as you would find in Brazil. I really love that about this country: the individual is king.
