The TUNES Metatranslator subproject

TUNES seems to be about striving for higher and higher levels of expression. The idea of the metatranslator is to create a high-enough level of abstraction that will allows us to automatically translate between different languages. It's similar to ideas of rich text / semantic web, which are very dear to my heart.

I like the look of this project. It seems like it's trying to do an awful lot, but I'll definitely learn a lot from reading their documentation. Thanks :-)

Actually this sounds somewhat like the sort of system I imagine developing for myself, but it's enough of a pipe dream that I usually don't talk about it. The fact that it's Lisp-based makes me want to read more about it / work on it.

I've also been wanting to work on it for a few years now, but things seem so disorganized and hard to understand that I don't know where to begin. So all my contributions have been in the form of editing the wiki / asking questions that get answered and added to the knowledge base.
