teenage repellant
Dec. 2nd, 2005 04:05 pmWhat's the buzz? Teens can't stand it
My reaction:
* I'm mostly disturbed at the ghastliness of aging.
* This reminds me of people using draaiorgels to the same effect: troublesome teenagers tend to hate that kind of music.
* I'm wondering if we can find a similar technology to keep smokers from hanging around building entrances.
Gough (pronounced GUFF) planned to install a sound system that would blast classical music into the parking lot, another method known to horrify hang-out youths into dispersing, but never got around to it. But last month, Stapleton gave him a Mosquito for a free trial. The results were almost instantaneous. It was as if someone had used anti-teenager spray around the entrance, the way you might spray your sofas to keep pets off. Where disaffected youths used to congregate, now there is no one.

A: Sure, since people use smoking to relax. Simply mount a smoke alarm high up (so people can't destroy it). Nothing more annoying that a smoke alarm.

Cigs have some specific characteristics though that are cheap to detect...so we don't need to worry about that, what we need to worry about is the 10Kwatt amplifier I plan to attach to the buzzer that scares the hell out of anyone that smokes.
