Yesterday, I got tired very suddenly at around 5pm. [livejournal.com profile] cozmic1 took me to dinner, where I was shivering, and drove me home, where I crashed on the couch. Coming to think of it, it started the symptoms started night before (Tuesday night), when I had some stomach pain.

After about 1 hour lying down under 4 layers, I started oscillating between getting too hot and too cold. I've been having the nightmarish idea that almost everything I do must be undone, and that therefore progress is extremely slow (if that sounds vague, it's because it is). Something about needing to track every little thing, otherwise the distributed computation would reach an inconsistent state.

So now I'm up at 6:30am. I wonder if I can be productive today.

Suppose you feel quite sick outside of doctors' office hours (let's say 6pm - 6am). You figure it's probably not life-threatening. Still, you'd like to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Do you have any options other than the Emergency Room? How much do they charge, compared to regular treatment? Does it hurt you to charge your insurance for an emergency, when your case is not a true emergency?
