Came back from jogging (I was inspired by Carlos's visit)
I get home, and 30 seconds was enough for my unconscious mind to hide my keys from my conscious mind.
Why am I so bad at finding stuff? One pretty good theory is that searching for lost objects is a non-monotonic process.
I tend to either reason "I've looked there before", and if I do decide to look again, I'll look in exactly the same way, defeating the purpose of a second look. But why do I always look in the same way?
What are the consequences of me being bad at finding stuff?
* organizational freakness
* extreme intolerance of other people moving my things
I once paid my sister to find something of mine that I lost *inside* my room. She found it after 2 minutes. An easy 2 quid for her.
