Today I saw a fight on the Herengracht, between "captains" of two boats, yelling at each other like crazy. One of the boats was a tourist boat, and its captain was older and smaller, and got intimidated by the guy in the smaller boat.

The police came after a few minutes, and apparently a ~3yo child was given to the woman in the small boat, along with a teddy bear.

I have no idea what this was about and would love to see it in the news, but it might not be big enough to make it to the news. I didn't see any press, for one.

I used to use a service called SpyOnIt.com, where you had "web spies" that would send you an email if certain keywords appeared in certain webpages. For example, if "Recife" (my homecity) or "Bucknell" (my alma mater) or the name of any of my friends appeared on big news sites, I'd definitely like to know about it.

Now I'm trying ChangeDetect... but it doesn't seem to filter keywords.

UPDATE:
Ok. I found it in today's newspaper: here

ChangeDetect seems to be good for monitoring - guess, what? - the changes at the sites; but why not to use Google News Alerts for the *real news*? Apparently, it catches even the small local news, like I've got once the news on the accident in Eindhoven airport which was never reported in the local press (or surely *before* it was reported there).

Mozilla had this on the browser side. But it seems gone in Firefox.
