Sep. 12th, 2010 05:30 pmI think that "iPhone" runs the risk of becoming a generic term, like "Palm Pilot" did, at least in my mind. It's just too catchy, and I keep wanting to say "my iPhone" even though I dislike their brand.
Apple doesn't want to risk losing the trademark, but apart from that, they surely benefit from the genericization of the term.
