I think I need a Bookmark & Close All feature for my browsing, for when things get too cluttered (attention NADD (nerd ADD) sufferers).
One variation would be for the browser to go through the tabs and pages, one by one, asking me what I want to bookmark (and where). Ideally, it would be del.icio.us-compatible.

I like labels. My emails work like this (GMail). My bookmarks too (del.icio.us). Google Desktop Search provides some relief, although regular file search would too.
I wish we had a system with link-enabled items (e.g. this file points to that other file, or to a folder). You could have multiple kinds of links out of each file (e.g. similar files; this same song played by another artist).
Presently you have to create wrappers around each item, and this information is not integrated with the file system... although it's no problem if you always use the system (maybe it's slower than if it were integrated).
This is similar to the semantic web dream, in that it's about enriching items with information that makes them easier to find.
